Top 10 Best Security Companies in Fylde

Security in a Diverse Borough

Fylde is home to a uniquely varied range of security requirements. Major industrial and defence sites operate at Warton and Salwick, Blackpool Airport sits within the borough, Lytham and St Annes host large festivals and seaside crowds, and residential neighbourhoods and rural farms all need protection against theft and intrusion. Agricultural machinery theft is a particular concern in rural parts of the Fylde, while retail businesses face challenges with shoplifting and anti-social behaviour.

Security Trends in Fylde

Remote video monitoring is growing rapidly. Rather than relying solely on on-site guards, many businesses now use cameras with intelligent analytics connected to monitoring centres. This approach can reduce costs while providing round-the-clock coverage, which is particularly useful for rural farms, construction sites and storage yards.

Integrated systems are becoming the norm. Businesses increasingly want CCTV, access control, alarms and visitor management linked together on a single platform, with cloud access and mobile alerts. This provides better oversight and faster responses to incidents.

Event security is another key area. Large events such as Lytham Festival require crowd management, search procedures, stewarding and counter-terrorism awareness. Licensed security staff with event experience are in high demand during the summer season.

Rural crime prevention is a priority for local farmers. Machinery tracking, forensic marking, gate alarms and community watch schemes help protect valuable equipment and livestock across the Fylde countryside.

How to Choose a Security Provider

Look for providers whose officers hold Security Industry Authority licences and whose installers are accredited by recognised bodies such as NSI or SSAIB. Accreditation demonstrates compliance with British standards and is often required by insurers. Ask about response times, monitoring arrangements, contract terms and maintenance schedules.

A professional security survey is the best starting point. A reputable provider will assess your premises, identify vulnerabilities and recommend proportionate solutions rather than overselling equipment. For homeowners, consider whether you want a professionally monitored system or a self-monitored smart solution.
