Top 10 Best Renewable Energy Companies in Rossendale

Rossendale's Renewable Energy Story

Rossendale has a long relationship with energy. The valley's fast-flowing rivers powered early water mills, and coal fuelled the steam engines that drove its textile and footwear industries. Today, the borough is writing a new chapter. The high moorland between Rossendale and Rochdale is home to Scout Moor, one of England's largest onshore wind farms, and homes and businesses throughout the valley are increasingly adopting solar panels, heat pumps and electric vehicle charging.

Rising energy costs, net-zero commitments and growing environmental awareness are driving demand for renewable solutions. For residents and businesses, renewable energy offers lower long-term bills, greater energy independence and a meaningful contribution to tackling climate change.

The Renewable Energy Landscape

The renewable sector spans large-scale generation, green electricity supply, grid infrastructure, low-carbon heating and electric vehicle charging. Companies serving Rossendale range from developers and utilities to manufacturers and installers. Together, they are helping the valley reduce its reliance on fossil fuels and build a more resilient, sustainable energy system.

For households, the most common entry points are switching to a renewable electricity tariff, installing solar panels or replacing an ageing gas boiler with a heat pump. For businesses, options extend to on-site generation, battery storage, fleet electrification and power purchase agreements that lock in renewable supply over many years.

Renewable Energy Trends in the Valley

Heat pump adoption is rising, supported by grant funding, while home battery storage is becoming more affordable and popular. Smart tariffs that reward flexible energy use are helping households maximise savings.

Businesses are also investing in rooftop solar and EV charging to cut costs and meet customer and investor expectations on sustainability.

Community energy is another area to watch. The valley's strong community spirit, combined with its rivers and hillsides, makes it well suited to locally owned schemes in which residents share the benefits of generation and keep more energy spending circulating within the local economy.

Choosing a Renewable Energy Partner

Look for installers certified under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme, which is required to access many grants and export payments. Compare quotes, check reviews and ask about warranties, aftercare and expected performance. For energy suppliers, consider tariff structures, customer service and the genuine source of their renewable power.

A good provider will assess your property carefully and recommend solutions that genuinely fit your needs and budget, rather than pushing a one-size-fits-all package.

Conclusion

Rossendale's energy heritage is evolving into a renewable future. The companies on this list are helping the valley harness wind, sun and smart technology to cut emissions, reduce bills and build a cleaner, more sustainable economy for generations to come.
