Top 10 Best Furniture Stores in Moray

Furnishing Homes in Moray

Moray offers a wonderful variety of homes, from traditional stone cottages in Speyside villages and fishermen's houses in Findochty and Portknockie to modern family developments around Elgin and Forres. Each brings its own furnishing challenges. Older properties may have narrow staircases and low ceilings, while new builds often call for open-plan furniture that defines living spaces. Because the region is relatively rural, delivery coverage and assembly services are just as important as price and style.

This guide highlights ten furniture stores and brands that serve Moray households well, whether you are furnishing a first home, upgrading a family kitchen or creating a cosy holiday let.

How long does furniture delivery take to Moray?

Lead times vary by retailer and product. In-stock items may arrive within days, while made-to-order sofas can take several weeks. Rural addresses in Speyside or the upland parts of Moray may have specific delivery days, so always confirm timescales before ordering.

What should I look for in a quality sofa?

Check the frame material, ideally kiln-dried hardwood, along with the suspension type, cushion filling and fabric rub test rating. A long frame guarantee is a good indicator of durability, and removable, washable covers are useful for family homes and holiday lets.

Is solid wood furniture worth the extra cost?

Solid wood is heavier and usually more expensive than veneered or engineered board, but it can be sanded, refinished and repaired over decades. For dining tables and wardrobes that see daily use, it often represents better long-term value.
