Trends in Education Consultancy

Demand for consultancy services has grown as families seek clarity in an increasingly competitive and complex education system. Online consultations have made expert advice accessible to families in rural villages without the need to travel. There is growing interest in apprenticeships and degree apprenticeships, and consultants now spend more time advising on these routes alongside traditional university applications.

Special educational needs advocacy has also become a significant area of growth, reflecting rising numbers of children with identified needs and the importance of securing appropriate support. Study abroad guidance has broadened too, with more students considering universities in Europe, North America and Asia.

How to Choose an Education Consultant

Check qualifications, experience and track record, and ask for references from previous clients. Ensure the consultant is independent and transparent about fees. Consider whether you need specialist expertise, such as SEND law or medical school admissions. Free services such as the National Careers Service and SENDIASS should always be explored first, as they may provide all the guidance you need.
